Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To fulfill my life with passion
ABOUT ME
To make a living I work within computer science. Back in the 80's I was hooked.. however for some reason I was from the very first only interested in the visual possibilities of these new "beasts".
This brought me through an era of "Turtle graphics", multimedia, dot-com bubbles, virtual reality, computer games, visualization, simulation, stereoscopy, etc. - yep, pretty geeky stuff!
These days I roughly do the same. Create software for visualization of Architecture, etc. However I'm also involved in the creation of smaller kid's games. "The adventures of the bicycle mosquito Egon" is one good example.
PHILOSOPHY
I believe in the good of all people.
A lot of people say that, but people tell me that I actually live my life this way in an often close to naive childish way :-)
Further I think that by reaching out to people again and again, you will succeed in the end, at least a little bit.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I try to stay both open-minded to the whole idea and to the people I host and visit. This is a way to meet and learn from people all over the world that I wouldn't otherwise stumble into by a traditional way.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I had my first hosting experience when hosting two individual surfers at the same time. It was a bit strange at first meeting up, however we ended up talking till 4.00 in the morning.

Transportation
Plan your public transportation here.
However I strongly recomend that you travel around the city on a free bike.
You can also take a closer look at the Metro or Train.
Notice that the metro net isn't that widespread yet, instead use the S-Train, or take the Bus.
Ohh and check out the Waterbus, it's a cheap way to explore the habor.

Film
Film geeks should go and visit the Danish Film Institute.
If you just want to see a movie go to Empire.
A lot of local people love this place.
Another nice old cinema located downtown is Grand.
In the summer you could also go and watch a free outdoor movie.
If its warm and sunny, go here
Located in an old rough "secret" part og Copenhagen, you find Halvandet lounge bar.
North of Copenhagen you can find a similar place called Docken
Or you could simply go to a new very popular free public beach.
Or take a swim directly in the habor. It's free take a look.
Places
Politicians hate it, everybody else loves it. You should ofcourse go to Christiania.
To get underground, go to Cisternerne.
For a green experience, go to the Botanical Garden.
Parks
Kongens Have
Fælledparken
H.C. Ørstedparken
Østre Anlæg
...
Squares
Vesterbrogade
Sankt Annæ Plads / Store Strandstræde

Shopping
"Strøget" is only for tourists. If you need to "cross" city use the parallel street "Strædet".
Bring back some beatiful tea from A.C. Perchs Tea Shop.
Visit the fairtrade bookshop Tranquebar bookshop.
Eat out
For a well prepared cheap meal go to Kate's Joint.
Sticks'n'sushi can be found all over Copenhagen. Each resturant has it's own distinct interior design. Beside sushi, they also offer Sticks, you should try those. A bit pricey compared to other sushi places.
Coffee & Drinks
Rough neighbourhood, rough interior, but at the same time very local, friendly and warm. Tjili Pop is absolutely one of my favourites.
Cocktails
The bartenders at Al Mercante actually won some cocktail championships in Las Vegas.
Argentine Tango
There is nearly everyday a place to tango in Copenhagen. Check the Calender.
There is also a Tango Portal to check out.
Some Danish-only pages needs to be translated.
