Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My son (11) and I both enjoy discovering new places and getting to know people. I do love travelling my own way...so couchsurfing is a welcoming alternative and suits our budget! And so far all of our couchsurfing experiences brought such a lovely colour splash in our allday-life that I find it nearly addictive.

Music, Movies, and Books

My taste in music is versatile and goes always through phases...safe candidats are Mumford and Sons, Lewis and Leigh, Broken Bells, Ludovico Einaudi, The Beautiful South and the Pigram Brothers but also Fat Freddy´s Drop, Metronomy, Sohn and Konstantin Wecker.
Good movies are essential for me...I like The Tree and The Broken Circle alot and not to forget Paddington Bear and Ernest and Celestine.
I am lazy with books but there is still hope.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I left Germany and lived in Ireland for 6 years and also in Amsterdam for a little while.
My biggest adventures - travellingwise - I experienced on my bicycle...a trip along the turkish Mediterranean coast, a few trips in Ireland - with the wind not always at my back - and through the Daintree/rainforest in Queensland/Australia.

Teach, Learn, Share

Sharing is caring! And learning is fun!

What I Can Share with Hosts

We live in a small house with a little garden in a small village. Our setting here is simple and not modern (no worries...toilet and shower are inside!)...but therefore it´s cosy and warm.
The island we live on is the biggest of Germany and very beautiful. Stralsund on the mainland is the nearest town about 10 km away and lovely to visit. So there is abit to offer...
We love good food and like sharing our meals with others. If somebody wants to cook for us that is always a special delight and very much appreciated but no condition.
We are quite social and especially I enjoy a personal talk and a good laugh, of course.
Very important if you are interested in visiting us is that you will need a bicycle or a car to get around here. Public transport in our area is a joke and also expensive...maybe abit better in summer than the rest of the year.
I prefer independent guests but if it suits we might be able to show you around abit.
