Overview
About Me
I'm a Singaporean who has lived in Zambia for the last eight years. I go to an international school with quite a few people with different cultural backgrounds, which is pretty exciting.
I love languages. I find it exciting to learn about something new and to try to understand culture through language - I feel that it's an important part of culture.
I also love music. I am an adequate violinist and a slightly dodgy drummer, as well as an active listener/appreciator of music.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Meeting people is always quite exciting for me. You get to discover something new: new ways of living, new perspectives, and I find that quite fun. I love ideas, and the best way to find them is through people.
I don't get the chance to travel as much as I like, but when I do, I don't want to do so simply as a tourist, I want to understand what it's like to live there and to try to understand a new culture. I feel that the best way to do that is to meet people who have lived there and understand the place.

Music, Movies, and Books
I listen to a pretty big range of music, mostly electronic and rock/pop, with a splash of choral music or K-pop here and there. I like quietly (and loudly if I can) supporting Indie artists.
I like a whole bunch of movies and books, so I can't name them all, but for movies I'd say After the Dark is pretty up there. For books, the Perks of Being a Wallflower, or books by John Green or Stephen King.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One awesome thing I've done is probably moving to Zambia. That transition was a pretty big life-changer and I think I've learned a whole lot more about life in general and experienced a lot more than I would've if I had just stayed in Singapore my whole life.
Teach, Learn, Share
Languages! I love learning new things and would definitely like to share what I know or to practice them with you.
I also have some experience with living and growing up as a minority, as a Singaporean living in Zambia, and there are some pretty interesting ideas to share about that.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I am a pretty enthusiastic person. I might be able to share my knowledge on how to speak some Chinese or French, or maybe a teensy bit of Japanese, if you're interested. Also I may not be great at doing chores, but I would definitely be willing to help.
