ABOUT ME

I have lived in and around Antwerp all my life. I studied arts in high school, finished teacher training two years ago, worked for a year as a primary teacher, felt I was way to young to start my life as teacher, got myself a studio in Ghent (Eastern Flanders), started studying again and discovered the beauty of Ghent.
I love travelling, being on the road makes me peaceful and I love air plane food (you see it was meant to be). I enjoy diving into a culture, learn the habits, language, way of life, exchange ways of thinking, ...

Interests

I love green grass, coffee with chilli, friendly strangers, guts, going somewhere, singing friends, leaving voicemails, freckles, silly jokes, hard work, smiling people, playing Mario on nintendo 64 and the smell of the night.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love books of Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Marjane Satrapi and the comics of Calvin & Hobbes.

I listen to all kinds of music, as long as it fits my mood. Some really good Belgian artists/bands: Daan, Axelle Red, Mira, Pieter Embrechts, El Tattoo Del Tigre, Sioen

The movie 'turtles can fly' impressed me a lot.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Waking up in Mole national park(Ghana) at 6 am, open the door of your room and watch the elephants take a bath in de lake beneath you (and run in to one when you want to go buy a pineapple for breakfast).
- Listen to the neighbourhood kids(Ghana) singing a religious song and strongly feel something spiritually for the first time (while I was a born and raised non-believer).
- Being stuck on a small island in Croatia because of a storm.
- Climb the highest mountain in Ghana( and overview eastern Ghana and Togo) and swim in lake Volta.
