About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My mission for the summer is to be able to relax and enjoy my surroundings. I think I am doing great in that department.

ABOUT ME

I am very easygoing and generally easy to talk to. I love exploring new cultures through the cities, and having interesting conversations with new friends about art, books and my personal favourite: politics. I am happy as a clam sleeping in the floor as long as the people I meet are interesting and fun, which I think is what makes life worth living. I have spent the last 25 years of my life at school, and now that I have an M.A. I realized I want to travel a bit more before being buried in academia by way of a PhD.

PHILOSOPHY

I know it is cheese, but I do try to ascribe to carpe diem as often as possible.

Interests

I am an avid reader, and that is what I will be doing most of the time when I am not exploring museums and art galleries. I absolutely love dancing, and one of the first things I do as soon as I arrive in a new city is look for the nearest salsa place. I do yoga on a regular basis, and now and then I do some retail therapy: in fact, one of my favourite mementos from cities I visit is funky jewellery found at thrift shops.

Music, Movies, and Books

Currently loving The Hives, Cindy Lauper and Florence + The Machine. Constant favourites include Jay Z and Tchaikovsky.
I am on a TV kick lately, trying to finish all the Lost and Community episodes. God bless Netflix.
Haruki Murakami and Palahniuk on my library right now. Love Tolkien and Dickens.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The incredible art collection at the Modern Art Museum in Havana was amazing; I have never seen. so many works by Lam in one space.
Halifax, NS in Canada is one of the most incredible cities I have ever visited. I wish I could go back soon and revel in the utter Irishness of its residents.
