Björn and Maike travelling through North and South America!

A little bit about us:
Björn and I are a married couple from Germany. We met each other 7 years ago during our vocational training in the tourism industry. Since then, we went on to explore several countries, even moved to England for our studies. After a couple of years working (i.e. Berlin Tourism Board, Publishing, hotel and hostel industry) we feel the urge to travel again.

So, we're doing it: 1 year off and a long list of superb countries & cultures on our list! So far, we've visited Chile, Argentina, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador and Colombia. Check out www.reisekraniche.de for some awesome pictures!

The plan for the remaining months: Western USA and British Columbia! We've discovered California, Oregon and Washington already and are now travelling through Canada to make it to our final destination: Alaska.

>> We're friendly, reliable and open-minded people. We love photography, new cultures, cycling and good food. We both share the passion for travel and tourism, nature and good stories. Travelling to new places is our brain food.

We would like to make the most of our time on this beautiful continent trying to taste as much unkown food as possible, trying to speak Spanish a little better (OK, a LOT better - you can test us on that now if you want), listening to amazing stories, capturing breathtaking sceneries... the whole package really!

I'm 28, Björn is 30 years old (https://www.couchsurfing.com/users/649889/profile) ; we're both non-smokers. So, we have plenty of energy and strength to do amazing things and discover great people and places.

- In New Zealand, Maike and her friend stayed at a place in Wellington literally before giving up hope to find a place. It turned out to be an incredible stay with amazing Kiwis.
- In Chile: Thanks, Alfredo for a wonderful time in Coyhaique!
- In Argentina: Mar del Plata wouldn't have been the same without Couchsurfing at Roberto's place!

WHY WE'RE HERE?
Because we believe that the world is a great place despite what the TV news keeps telling us. We think that travelling turns us into better human beings. Everyone is so welcoming. And so are we. We're happy to meet you!

Made great friends. Found love. Went abroad. Did so many great trips... WWOOFing in New Zealand three years ago was amazing! Now, I'm doing Workaway in the U.S. and it seems just as great. Just ask me... the list continues.
