About Me
CURRENT MISSION
This is your life. Do what you love, and do it often.
ABOUT ME
I'm a 26 year old American who quit my corporate job (business consulting) to live in Australia for a year. That was July of 2012, and life has been great since! I graduated from university with a degree industrial engineering, though I've never practiced it in the "real world." I consider myself an outdoorsy type of person, but still enjoy going to a museum or diving into a book for some down time.
PHILOSOPHY
This is your LIFE. Do what you love, and do it often. If you don't like something, change it. If you don't like your job, quit. If you don't have enough time, stop watching TV. If you are looking for the love of your life, stop; they will be waiting for you when you start doing the things you love. Stop over analyzing, life IS simple. All emotions are beautiful. When you eat, appreciate every last bite. Open your mind, arms, and heart to new things and people, we are unied in our differences. Ask the next person you see what their passion is, and share your inspiring dream with them. Travel often; getting lost will help you find yourself. Some opportunities only come once, seize them. Life is about the people you meet, and the things you create with them so go out and start creating. Life is SHORT. Live your dream and share your passion.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've surfed and hosted, but since I joined I haven't utilized CS in its entirety. Through the next year, as I travel independently, I hope to use it not just for surfing, but for meeting people and going to CS-based events in the cities I pass through. That's the power of CS --- to meet friends all around the world.
Interests
I used to run marathons but gave them up for cycling, and I've absolutely fallen in love with it. I enjoy college (American) football, photography, talking business, red wine, good bourbon, and new beers. And I love, love food, let me tell you.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In 2011, I hiked from Cuzco to Machu Picchu and it was one of the most incredible places I've been able to see. The hike itself was 45 miles over 5 days. On the last morning we woke early, hiked Huayna Picchu, and were able to see Machu Picchu from a peak only a few people get to see each day. It's an absolutely incredible experience and if you have the time and money I highly encourage you do it before they close it down!
