About Me

(Updated in 2018)
I am currently an investment manager for a Canadian company. I make investment decisions on equity based assets, i.e. stocks in China, HK and US market.

Investment has always been my passion and I am fortunate to find my current job as I am really doing something that is truly intriguing and amazingly challenging.

I havn't been travelling lately and I spent most of my winter time doing snowboarding, either in Northeast China or Japan

I am a energetic young man from China. Just graduated from college in 2010, I am in my gap year now to explore more about myself, my friends, and the world around me.

This fall I am going to study at Columbia University at New York City for my master's program in education.

Travelling is a important reason for my hard work. As a sociology student, I love to experience between cultures and make friends from all over the world!

World is beautiful, life is wonderful!

My dream is to embark on a grand world tour some time! It seems that this dream is not coming true.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

(Updated in 2013)

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

One of my friend Santiago from San Diego, he told me about this amazing project! I hosted once and surfed for three times. Each time I met interesting people and learned a lot from each other.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've had great couchsurfing experiences in different places. There are always surprises during each surfing.

I love hosting people, too. When a French young couple who is travelling around the world surfed at my place, I was so inspired by their experience and action. Then I finally made up my mind to embark my own round world tour!

Music, Movies, and Books

(Updated in 2013)
"Forrest Gump" is my always favorite, it gives me hope.

"The Pursuit of Happiness", I am in the period of my life called running.

"Into the Wild", just do it, for your dream, be a dream catcher.

Steve Jobs' commencement address at Stanford (2005), Steve Jobs is always my idol. This speech gives me long lasting inspiration and encouragement.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

(Updated in 2013)
I was a volunteer for a great organic farm in Northeast US, I've done all kinds of farming (picking apples, transplanting, weeding, hoeing...), it's so interesting and fun! Everyday after working, we did all kinds of cool things: music, live concert, sunset, waterfalls, swimming... We enjoyed the great harmony between human and nature!

The most amazing thing of working in a farm is to have an alternate lifestyle which does no harm to nature and other people. From farming I learned many important philosophies about life.

Teach, Learn, Share

(Updated in 2013)
I am a big fan of traditional Chinese tea. So if you come and visit my home, I will be very happy to invite to enjoy my various categories of tea through the tea ceremony. Also, as a traveler, usually I will bring my travelling tea set with me so that I could drink it every day and show it to my host!

I have been to several countries, so I would love to share my experiences both in and abroad. Also, as a sociology student, I would be happy to share my perspectives about China, and the wild world.

My graduate study is international education, therefore I am an "expert" in educational related topics and issues. I would be enthusiastic to discuss educational topics with you.

I have got a wide range of interests, We could also discuss about movies, photography, cooking...
