About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Aloha. I was hosting for a couple of years about 4 years ago as I was living with a friend and we had a spare room. I've since moved twice and no longer have a spare room :-(
I can host from time-to-time when my shared house is a bit quieter.

ABOUT ME

I'm Rupert
Originally from the UK. I'm a pretty relaxed kinda fella. Love the beach and the ocean. I work 2 jobs, one pays the rent and the other will hopefully one day (i'm pretty busy).

I grew up in sunny England (its not that sunny). Came to Australia 7 years ago. Spent 1 year in Brissy (QLD) before coming to Sydney. Have been in Bondi ever since. Its a very fun place to live.

PHILOSOPHY

Be nice. Pay it forward.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I picked up a random guy who was hitch-hiking in regional NSW up to Sydney called Luke Reimann and during our 4hr road trip) it transpires he's an ambassador for Couchsurfing! He gave me the lowdown and I was instantly sold!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Have hosted lots, but have never surfed. Have always had great surfers and shared many great experiences, meals, road trips, gigs and from time to time; drunken shenanigans!

Interests

I love to meet new people and experience new cultures. I Love to travel and love Road trips. I LOVE to eat and am always looking for something new to enjoy. I'm a coffee fan. I'm pretty active and like to run, lift weights and train Krav Maga. I have a dry sense of humour and great taste in music (lol IMO),

Music, Movies, and Books

Back in my misspent youth in the UK I managed 4 bands (no one you would have heard of. nonethless, the experience was great.
Some of my fave bands include, but are not limited to: love indie rock and 70's rock: Chilis, Foos, Doors, Zep, QOTSA, libertines, White Stripes, Strokes etc

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I jumped out of an Airplane and i'm scared of heights (I was wearing a parachute btw)

Teach, Learn, Share

I know a fair bit about Australia and the Eastern suburbs of Sydney as I've been here for a few years now. If I'm hosting: I have wheels and am happy to drive. I have lots of international friends (french, brazilian, spanish, american, irish, Kiwi) and something is always happening. I like to think I'm up-to-date with whats going down in my town. Can show you great coffee spots, lunch spots, party spots and sublime beaches. If you can cook, you get bonus points!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm clean, relaxed, respectful and inquisitive. I can cook, clean and I can tell funny stories and bad jokes. I'm happy eating in a flash restaurant or eating from a banana palm in the jungle.
