About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Arrived in Montreal yesterday, trying to find couches to surf for a little while until I find a job and a room to rent long term.
ABOUT ME
I'm a friendly, outgoing English guy who's been travelling on and off for about six years. My recent travels have taken me from New Orleans to New York and now I've moved to Montreal and am looking for couches to surf for a week or two while I find work and a place to rent here.
PHILOSOPHY
I'm not religious but definitely believe in karma. My only real fear is that life's too short and the world's too big...
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've surfed people's couches in Vancouver and Athens, went to a few Couchsurf meet-ups in Beijing, but am sad to say I haven't lived anywhere where I've been in a position to offer a couch... yet.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I got on so well Simon and his room-mates, whose couch I surfed in Vancouver in 2007, that I ended up moving into a spare room in their place for a couple of months. We kept in touch ever since. After a few years of gentle persuasion last winter I decided to come check out the awesome little ski town Si now lives in. Same thing happened, after crashing their couch for a while, one of their housemates moved on and I moved into their place for seven months. Lifelong friendships from couchsurfing basically...

Music, Movies, and Books
Really enjoy movies of all sorts but have a terrible habit of falling asleep half way through.
Can get into most types of music - particularly live gigs, but mostly listen to various electronic silliness with repetitive beats.
Trying to read Homer's Odyssey at the moment - finding it hard work to be honest. Last book I read was amazing though - When the Elephants Dance by Tess Uriza Holthe. I highly recommended it.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
There's been a few! Most recently I'd say the New Years party a few days ago at my friend's apartment in Manhattan!
Teach, Learn, Share
Tough question. Audio engineering is my forte. Live music and installation stuff mainly, building all kinds of audio systems from recording studios to home cinemas, analyzing existing systems, problem solving, specifying and installing equipment, etc. Kinda niche, not sure how many people want to learn about that stuff!
I also have good household electrical and computer skills and have taught English as a foreign language.
There's always lots I want to learn. Right now: to weld, speak better French and Spanish, play piano, to program computers, ride a motorbike, etc, etc
