CURRENT MISSION

To live a good life. Which means AutoStopping from Portugal to Mongolia - I ended up only making it to Iran. Mongolia -> Iran is next, then africa. Just got back from a month of hitching to Norway ( starting Iceland -> Matla ) and a month hiking / hitching in norway

ABOUT ME

If I had to sum up who I was - I am that person who wants to be barefoot in some jungle but willing to work 100 hours a week to get there.

Travel is the great humbler and thus I will remain humbled.

PHILOSOPHY

Live the good life.

I am not quite sure how to do it, or what it even means. But you have to live a good life. A life you want to live. A life that will bring you peace and joy while you are crawling and beaten to that grave.

When someone offers you water you take it.

Stay the course and live the dream.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I can hopefully teach someone who is hosting me something new. Once I have my own couch again i will host as many as I can. I can cook good healthy food and love doing the dishes!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have never used this website before to find a place to sleep. But I have slept on many couches ( and many other things that aren't quite couches). My first night in Israel I met a soldier who took me in and gave me not only a place to sleep, but a warm meal! This was my first really seeing hospitality. The barriers of who I was and what I do didn't matter. What mattered was I had a warm place to sleep and a hot meal. I will never forget what they did for me. I am thankful and humbled by it. I live to make sure I can do that. I can be that person who gives back blindly.

Music, Movies, and Books

I read a lot. I could list books and movies for pages upon pages. But I will give you my two favorite.

Raw Shark Texts - This book will have you asking if you are looking out a window or if it's just your walls looking thin.

A Man From Earth - Brilliant movie, takes place in one scene. It is a true May-Pole.

Music - I like all types - while I code I like classical and opera. Jazz, Acid Jazz, house, crazy music from all over the world that I could even begin to tell you what it was. If it has soul and feeling chances are I will love it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Most recently a man in Santiago de Cuba asked me for my shirt. I was wearing a dark green shirt and light green shorts, he was wearing a green shirt and green shorts as well. His love for green promoted him to ask me if I got my shirt in Cuba. I told him I did not but rather I brought it. He then asked if I would give him his shirt in return for something. Needless to say I have one-less shirt.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can offer a lot here or would like to hope so.

I know a thing or two about building - Aquaponics, Houses, maybe you need a new couch?

I can cook and can teach someone how to cook! One of the many things I have tried to do while traveling was to learn how to cook from a locals. Or maybe you need a better way of cutting an onion or peeling a clove of garlic!

Like history? I am an avid fan of archaeology and have somewhat turned it into one of my hobbies! Maybe you are heading somewhere and would like to know a little bit more about the area!

Traveling to a city I have been to? I can draw you maps and tell you the places I loved places I hated, and maybe even about that hidden water fall.
