About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Do my part to save the world!

ABOUT ME

I am a humorous, hardworking free-thinker that returned to school after ten years of absence because I was sick of chasing the almighty dollar for so many years and being miserable in the process. My motivation now is to make a positive impact on the world around me while working in a career doing something I love. I am working towards a degree in geography with a minor in scientific diving and an elementary teaching credential. but my passion is improving the world that we and future generations will live in. I eventually hope to travel the world and experience others points-of-view to get a more complete picture of how people live in other cultures as I believe that we as humans all want the same basic things out of life: positive personal relationships, positive physical and mental health, and true freedom to be ourselves, whoever we decide to be. Of course these are huge tasks but through these positive personal relationships we can unite to accomplish things we could never do alone. I feel that now is the time to start making positive changes to improve our lives and those that will come after us. Most importantly I love to laugh and have a good time! We only get one life so live it to the fullest.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I hope to utilize CS to meet other people, experience other cultures, and travel on the cheap with like-minded individuals.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Hosted a CSer and didn't know until the day he left. I was telling him how I was working on travel accommodations to Hawaii when he suggested CS. Good laugh. Look forward to meeting people from all over the world and seeing places I never had dreamed of.

Interests

I love meeting new people who have a positive vibe and enjoy life. Reggae music, scuba diving, enviro and social justice, science, gov't policy, travel, food production systems, cultural and physical geography

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to mostly reggae-rock, all of whom were influenced by the great Bob Marley; Rebelution, Jack Johnson, The Dirty Heads, Fortunate Youth, J-Boog, SOJA, and Iration are a few of my regulars. I am also a product of the 80s so I grew up listening to a wide range of music. Everything from Marin Gaye and Smokey Robinson, to Tupac, Digital Underground, and Poison. The most recent book I've read was Cadillac Desert by Marc Reisner, which is an account of how the American West was settled and how water resources (funded by taxpayer monies) have been manipulated and squandered away for personal profit. I also highly recommend The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein. It's a must for anyone who has had a close personal relationship with a pet.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My first trip to Kauai was incredible and the view from above Waimea Canyon is spectacular! I was looking for a job within three hours if landing and can't wait to return. Snorkeling with sea turtles off the shores of Maui was also amazing.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have learned many things the hard way but I also have practical knowledge of how people can positively impact others lives around them. We all have so much to learn from one another.

Countries I’ve Visited
