------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PHILOSOPHY
"Do not do to others what angers you if done to you by others" - not sure, who said it first, but it perfectly defines what we live by.
"Leave only the footprints" - a great notion, especially for the travellers to have it in their minds! And so we do and not only when we travel.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
We have hosted, surfed and introduced various friends to couchsurfing.
Such experience as meeting people from around the World, helping other fellow travellers, learning about different cultures and places, trying different cuisines is what we value and greatly appreciate.
We believe that the best way to travel, discover the World is meeting the locals. Just like visiting your friend in a new country for the first time!
Please note - we only accept requests from "real" travellers - long distance, long journey, big dreams.
Interests
Our interests vary from travelling, mountain hiking, trekking, cycling, motorcycling, horse back riding, farming, gardening to cooking, knitting, welding(Igor), playing chess, ping pong, reading, photography and video making, hand crafts involving clay and wood.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movie:
"The Deer Hunter" - all the time favourite!!
"The Big Lebowski", of course!
"One Million Dollar Baby", sad, but good.
"How to train the Dragon" - love it to bits!! (Ruta)
Music: rock, indie-rock, rock'n'roll; ska, regae, cumbia, hip-hop, a wee bit of metal
Books (Ruta mostly): Love reading detectives, a bit of science fiction and the fairytales for the kids..
Lots on the shelves too, but we must admit- we don't read much these days.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Rode 85cc scooters (Honda C90) around South America*.
A walk across Grand Canyon - the Trail to Colorado river and back (North rim) was something special.
