I'm a foreign language teacher and have a thing for languages. I had been teaching ESL in Russia for several years but am now teaching French and Spanish in the USA and have a list of other languages I'm learning or would like to learn. I'm also a doula. I'm a single mom with two kids and am pursuing a MA in English Language Teaching. I have always had an interest in other countries and cultures and languages.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm looking for a budget friendly place to stay as I travel around. I enjoy traveling to new places, meeting new people, and exploring new places. I also enjoy traveling to old places and becoming better acquainted with them.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like a variety of genres of music. My favorites vary season to season. Some favorites are: Skillet, Breaking Benjamin, Chainsmokers, Josh Groban, Amici Forever, Lewis Capaldi, and anything cello.
My favorite movies are action, comedy, and sappy romance movies. I like a good Hallmark movie.
As for books, I prefer classic novels. However, I currently spend more time reading about second language learning, parenting, and relationship books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've lived in a few countries.

I've given birth in two countries. As a doula, I love to talk about pregnancy and birth.

I've performed in numerous theatrical and musical shows. My dream once was to be an opera singer in Paris.

My personal achievement was hitting a financial low and bouncing back to support my family.

I can teach about all things pregnancy and childcare related as a doula and patent.

I am a teacher of ESL, French, and Spanish and love discussing languages/linguistics/etymology.

I'm a good cook and love learning new recipes and techniques.

What I Can Share with Hosts

With you: It depends on your preference. I've had some hosts that can only offer space. I've had other hosts that want to spend time together. As a host, my guests have been the same. Understanding the expectation is helpful.

Chez moi: I can provide the basic toiletries and bedding that you'd need while here.

I'm also happy to share whatever food I have on hand.

Depending on my schedule and yours, we may be able to spend time together or not. That could include conversation or an informal tour around my area.
