About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I am currently building my own business, developing an Organization to support the development of Office and Professional clothing for people who use wheelchairs.
ABOUT ME
Somehow, my profile has disappeared! Here is a short summary for now.
After High School I had the fortune to learn of the Library Technician 2 year Diploma program. With this training completed, I had a wonderful 25 years working in Public and University Libraries. My last 9 years at the University of British Columbia were also spent providing services for Students, Staff and Faculty who have disabilities.
In 1998 I returned to my home town to move back home and look after my elderly mother. This has led to 12 years of doing in-home care-aide work, in a variety of volunteer and paid situations.
During much of all of this, I started to turn my love of design and sewing to support Individuals with disabilities through quality, stylish AND functional purpose designed clothing. Various activities related to this have taken me to New York, Washington DC, and many other cities in the U.S. Germany, Brazil (where I was the International Judge at an Inclusive Design Fashion Competition) and Hawaii (where I did a lunch presentation to over 1000 people). More travel in the future.

I look forward to learning your thoughts on this work.
PHILOSOPHY
We all need to help to look after each other. I have lived most of my life with the 'pay it forward' attitude.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Over the years I have hosted close to 50 Couch Surfers. In the last few years I have Surfed myself and have had some wonderful hosts in Charlotte, North Carolina and Sao Paulo, Brazil, to name a few locations.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
When I was growing up my parents frequently made our couch (and floor) available to travellers. I think this is a great movement and community.
