About Me

I, Ruthe Geller am a 25 year old who is obsessed with turtles, among several other things. I'm very peppy and love people!

(Feel free to insert Tom Cardy’s “Soft Boy” in the background of my entire profile. I don’t see how cringey my writing is until I’ve gotten too attached to it to delete.)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm hoping to find places to stay and people to meet while I'm out traveling.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I did something amazingly foolish when I was a child of nine years old. I was on trip with my father, stopped in Hawaii. He was on the beach, and I was out swimming. Upon seeing a sign warning of dangerous rip currents, I, happy to find new reading material, swam closer to see the rest of the sign. Naturally, my feet were swept out from under me by the underwater current, and I began to be dragged out to sea. In that moment, my knowledge of how to swim out of a rip current did me no good, as I was too panicked to use it. I tried, desperately to grab into a stone wall, but alas, it was covered out algae and far too slippery. When I lost grip on the wall, I felt a hand grip my shoulder, and someone pulled me out of the rip. I did not know him by face or name. He was a beach boy, having fun with a group of friends, and saving my life. He put me on the wall and told me to walk back to the beach. I did so, and thusly love to this day.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love stories and look forward to exchanging them. Oral tradition creates and preserves friendship and culture.

Connections between humans are some of the most beautiful occurrences in the world to me. I can share conversation and music, as well as cook a group meal, provided a few ingredients.
