Hi Folks. I will be able to host very occasionally, like 1 person a month! I have a busy schedule but if it works out then great. I do my best to write back but there are a lot of messages coming in. I don't respond to vague messages or chain messages. If you see something in my profile you like then me know. Also, if I can't host you and it works out in our schedules then I'm open to grabbing some tea or a beer and connecting about travel experiences and life in general.

ABOUT ME

After spending years in South America I am home! Currently working to build green roofs in Vancouver. I spent 5 months travelling around Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, Bolivia, and Peru. After that I lived for 3 years in Brazil planting trees and learning about many aspects of sustainability and regenerative agriculture. I met some amazing people both local and international along the way and saw some of the most beautiful natural scenery I have experienced in my life. I love to play all kinds of sports including football, basketball, and beach volleyball to name a few. I am very social person and meeting new people from different cultures is one of my favourite things. I care deeply about environmental issues and believe that we all have a responsibility to protect and improve the quality of the natural world. For three years I worked on an amazing organic farm and sustainability centre just one hour from Rio de Janeiro. We did some amazing things here like grow food with permaculture methods, teach kids about environmental issues, and started a re-forestation project to help expand the Atlantic Rainforest.

PHILOSOPHY

Live in the moment, its the only thing you will ever have. And don´t take life too seriously and laugh as much as possible.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

After living in South America for 3 and a half years I am back in Canada! I had some great experiences Couchsurfing in Brazil, Chile, and Argentina. Now I am back home and can maybe host people at my family home near Vancouver.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

A few amazing experiences with some fantastic people in Brazil, Chile, and Argentina. This has been an amazing way to meet local people. I learnt a lot about different South American cultures and saw some amazing natural environments with some great people.

Interests

Sustainability and the environment. Vegetarian cooking, growing vegetables, sports, books, yoga, Portuguese, and Spanish languages and many more things! While in Brazil I lived on an amazing farm for almost 3 years. I started a project to help reforest the beautiful Atlantic Rainforest near Rio de Janeiro. The Atlantic Rainforest is the second most endangered ecosystem in the world and it spans from Northern Argentina to Northern Brazil. However, there are a lot of great projects and hope for the future. I love the great outdoors, especially hiking. I appreciate and will try any sport and love to socialize and get to know new people. I love learning languages. While in Brazil I learned to speak Portuguese very well. My Spanish is OK and I invite any opportunities to learn a little more.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiking and camping around Cerro Fitz Roy in Argentina was absolutely breaktaking. It is the most beautiful mountain I have ever seen!

Teach, Learn, Share

I have a pretty wide knowledge of many different sports and always enjoy talking about them. I also consider myself pretty knowledgeable of environmental issues. Whether it be growing food, planting trees, waste management, climate change, or renewable energy. I can teach English, Portuguese, and some Spanish as well.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to cook and always like to cook a nice meal for anyone who hosts me. I don't eat meat so it will be a vegan meal with lots of veggies.
