I appreciate good art even though I am no artist.

I really like my pets.

PHILOSOPHY

My personal philosophy: be kind to people. You can believe whatever you want to as long as you treat others well.

Music, Movies, and Books

A random mishmashed juxtaposition of everything. Really.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once wrote a trilingual dictionary consisting of Spanish, English, and Mixtec (a native Mexican language). I recorded the Mixtec through meeting with a speaker. It originally started out as a project for school, but blossomed into a really interesting and beautiful friendship. I also learned so much from it; I got to practice my Spanish and teach him English, and I recorded a language that has barely any published information on it. This summer I spent some time volunteering with Tibetan refugees in McLeod Ganj, India. I taught English at the Tibet Hope Center, which is a great organization if anyone's looking to do some volunteering in India. Most of our students were Buddhist monks and nuns and were some of the sweetest people I've ever met. One of the students, Choeney, invited my sister and I over to his apartment one day and made us lunch. Eating soup on the floor of a one room apartment with a monk is a pretty amazing experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you yoga! Or rather take you to yoga classes. I'd love to learn anything new. I'm kind of a total academic nerd, so learning is one of my favorite things, and I'm open to any new ideas you may have.
