ABOUT ME

What to say about me? I'm a single 31 year old stuck in Nebraska for the time being. I am in full time school (and full time work) trying to change my career so that I can afford to travel more often and have more adventures. I am addicted to travel and photography.

PHILOSOPHY

I am a cancer survivor and that experience has adjusted my personal philosophy a bit. I used to want a stable job in a cubicle somewhere, with a nice little home, maybe a family. Now I want to see the world. I want to experience as much as I can and see as much as I can before my time here is up.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am willing to host anyone, although i doubt there will be too much interest in Omaha, NE... however maybe someone will just be passing through? I moved here for school and plan on leaving the SECOND I'm out of school. Nothing against the midwest, I just need to live someplace pretty.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

havent had any yet, although had I known about this site during my excursions to Canada, Mexico, France or Ireland, or even any of my domestic excursions, I would have saved myself hundreds of dollars in hotels and maybe have met some amazing friends along the way, as well!

Music, Movies, and Books

oh wow... music: I love anything indie, folk, acoustic, rock, country...
books: I really love the classics... my favorite book of all time is The Brothers Karamazov by Foyodor Dostoyevsky
movies: I like action or horror... but my favorite is NatGeo documentaries, PBS science shows, Discovery channel shows. I'm a science geek at heart.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Last year I went for a 2 week long road trip through Ireland and Northern Ireland by myself. I stayed at local bed & breakfasts, had a rental car and just explored. The miracle of this experience was that I drove a rental car, in a foreign country, driving on the wrong side of the road, with the steering wheel on the wrong side of the car and returned the car with not ONE scratch. I also only got honked at once. Pretty impressive, I must say...

Teach, Learn, Share

the only things I really know anything about are photography, scotch, classic literature, science, and the outdoors. I would be willing to share anything I know, and am always wanting to learn more about anything!! I'm a knowledge junkie!
