About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Experience life.

ABOUT ME

Sociable. Love to laugh. Easy-going. Flexible. Independent.

I could talk to a wall... but please don't force me to. I can also pick up on social cues and won't be endlessly rambling to someone who doesn't want to listen.

PHILOSOPHY

Believer.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Interests

I'm addicted to traveling. After living in Australia for a year and now Thailand for a year and a half, I wonder if I'm ever going back to America. We don't have to tell my Granny that one though. :)

I also love playing soccer.. I suppose I should call it football now. Although I had my third knee surgery in Bangkok a few months ago and the doctors said I shouldn't play again... we shall see. I haven't played as of now, but I still enjoy yelling at friends playing from the sidelines in this Phuket league.

Working with children is definitely a passion. I did foster care-social work in DC for almost two years, nannied in Australia, and I'm currently teaching English to the best Thai kids ever.

Music, Movies, and Books

No judging please. :)

Books: Too many. CS Lewis, Jodi Picoult, Harry Potter... It depends on my mood. Sometimes I have to pick up and read a trashy terribly-written romance book, it happens. I have been made fun of for reading Shopaholic & Baby. But I can laugh about it.. and make fun of myself for it.

Music: Almost anything. I'm one of those people who knows the song but doesn't know the artist or the name of the song. Yes, I apologize. I do appreciate the awesomeness of the song. And hopefully I won't try singing it for you (I won't) because I have zero singing and musical ability.

TV Shows: Thanks to my Phuket roommates, I have found more awesome ones - Once Upon a Time, Suits, Game of Thrones, How I Met Your Mother...

Movies: I probably like it. Recently saw The Wolf of Wall Street and Lone Survivor.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Living abroad... love it.

I'm still thinking of a shocking one for ya, but I did meet 3 super tight Israelis in Australia and after 2 years met up with them in Israel. It was as if no time had passed and we were camping in Cairns again. I look forward to experiences like this. Good friends reconnecting, even if it takes awhile.

Teach, Learn, Share

Phuket gets 'hated' on a bit for being so touristy but we do have some of the best beaches in the world that many miss out on. Nai Harn Beach and Ao Sane are a couple goodies.

Although it's not the safest way to get around, one of my favorite things to do in Thailand is to explore by motorbike (as long as it's not pouring during rainy season of course - that novelty wore off after two days). If you don't feel comfortable driving, definitely rent a motorbike taxi and hop on. I didn't think I'd be driving either but after 2-3 weeks, I was.

Fiji, Israel, Spain
