Overview
About Me
Finished Uni in 2015 and decided to take the plunge and head to the UK at the end of May 2016 and use it as a launchpad to explore Europe as a solo traveller.
Spent the first few months traveling, as well as working at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe (biggest arts festival in the world) in the middle - eventually settling down to live in Edinburgh because I loved it so much. I lived and worked in Castle Rock Hostel initially as a volunteer doing cleaning jobs for the first couple months, and then ran events before becoming Assistant Manager for the last 18 months I spent there.
Before all the "worldy" stuff, I grew up in country South Australia before moving to the city (Adelaide) for Uni in 2011. I graduated as a Mechanical Engineer and then worked in hospitality as a bartender and waiter since graduating to save up for the big trip.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Like most other people on here, I want to travel without blowing my savings too quickly.
Between staying in hostels and camping, couchsurfing is the other way to meet and stay with like-minded people who can share their hospitality and the stories of their towns, countries and culture in return for whatever I can offer.
One day, once I reside in the same place for a reasonable amount of time, I will repay the favour by becoming a host myself, hopefully being able to host people who also hosted me.
