About Me

Hi guys, I am Ryan, giving and taking from this amazing world. I am passionate to meet new friends from all around the world, and looking forward to hearing people sharing their stories, cultures, life and experiences with me.
"He gives you 10$, I give you 8$; but he has 100$ and I only have 10$". I will give all I could give! I am a student, backpacker, writer, volunteer, amateur tour guide and of course a dreamer and doer! I am super exited to see the world and the world coming to me!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm super duper exited to meet new friends. I'm also a writer so I love to expose to different stories, lives and experiences. I sincerely hope I will meet some like-minded people in Couchsurfing community.
As a student, I don't always get the chance to backpack around. That's why I'd love to invite the world to come to me and I'll show you around Kuala Lumpur, the city that I' currently living in and certainly, my beautiful country- Malaysia.
There was a study done by hospital on 100 elderly people facing death, close to their last breath. They were asked to reflect about their life’s biggest regret and nearly all of them said, they regretted not the things they did but the things they didn’t do. Hence, I joined Couchsurfing because I do not want to regret for not accomplishing my teenage dream.

Music, Movies, and Books

Favorite singer-songwriters-- Ed Sheeran and Leehom Wang.

Books-- currently reading 'The Inside-Out Effect' by Behnam Tabrizi and Micheal Terrell; 'Me before You' by Jojo Moyes.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I had a 180km cycling to Cameron Highlands (Malaysia's largest hill station area) from my town, Bidor. I overcame my psychological concerns and successfully embarked on my 3-day-2-night bike trip alone in February 2017. I enjoyed the process pretty much, basically because of the people that I bumped into and oddities that I stumble upon. I can still vividly remember waking up at 4 am and jungle trekked to the peak of Mount Brinchang, anticipating the first beam of the brilliant orange-hued ray. On the zenith of Cameron Highlands, I was beamed with glory and pride, realising my accomplishments, the personal qualities that I had developed throughout the process, and most importantly, what kind of man I have become. Technical malfunctions, strained muscles and terrible weather weren’t my excuses to end the trip while making friends from all around the world and gaining those valuable skills were the main two things that pushed me forward.
