I am an open, friendly guy who loves meeting new people and making new friends, especially around the world. I graduated from the University of Cape Town, worked for a bit in management consulting and now work in strategy at a start-up. Outside of that I am a wildland firefighter with the Volunteer Wildfire Services.

I have done a fair bit of charity work in my city and have also done a lot of volunteer work, both in my hometown and abroad.
My goal is to explore this chaotic world and the fascinating people that inhabit it.

Unfortunately I am unable to host surfers until January 2025. However, I am still keen to meet up if I am available :)

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

I am a great fan of community spirit, and this seems to be in abundance on Couchsurfing. I absolutely love meeting new people, especially people from other countries!

I much prefer seeing a country from a local's perspective, which is why I am on Couchsurfing; not just for accommodation but mainly to get to know people who live there and to see the place through their eyes.

I believe that one can learn so much from someone in their hometown.

Intereses

I enjoy hiking, swimming, reading, running, engineering, space, travelling and making new friends.

In particular, I love travelling the unconventional way. I'm not a big fan of touristy places and would rather explore the lesser-known parts of a city/area.

I am eager to share all my culture and traditions about my (little-known) country with my hosts. I am ever-ready to participate in an adventure. I can provide friendly and engaging conversations and always have a smile ready!

I am also very respectful of my host's home and I'm always careful to be clean, tidy and responsible.
