About Me

To summarize my self as briefly and effectively as possible:
-thrill seeker
-Dogs over people
-Nature above all else (let's stop killing the earth guys)
-friendly American (citizens of the world) with an infectious laugh

In late 2014 after I'd finished my first year of University I felt something change deep inside of me. I knew I wasn't happy with the life I was living and if I kept it up I would only intensify my unhappiness. I knew I needed to go somewhere; I didn't know where I'd go or how I'd get there I just knew I needed to go. After some very random searches on the internet I discovered the wonderful country of New Zealand and the working holiday visa they offered and the rest is history.. I spent 11 of the most wonderful months in my life traveling, living, loving, and growing on that small island. Never in my wildest dreams did I think it would teach me as much as it has..

After my time there ended I figured "hey I've still got this big backpack on my back, might as well try to do and see as much as I can" so I left for London and spent 3 months solo backpacking Europe. Never in my life did I think I'd be able to see some of the beautiful things I've seen. Riding through Venice on a ferry, gazing up in wonder at the Matterhorn, walking through a gigantic fish market in Athens.. WOW this is what life was about, the moments that make you completely silent and fill you up to the brim with sheer happiness! I want a lifetime of these moments! Moments that can't be bought, scheduled, relived, or forgotten, that is what I live for..

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting new people and getting immersed in a culture that's different from mine. I think couch surfing allows me to get off the beaten path and have experiences that I wouldn't be able to before. Seeing a new place is about so much more than just seeing its statues and museums, seeing the people living in it is so important!

I have met many friendly people in my travels and I hope when I return home I can host just as many as have hosted me as I want to return some of the love I've gotten from the people of this world!

Music, Movies, and Books

My newest favorite books are Brave New World by Aldous Huxley and The Lonesome Traveler by Jack Kerouac.

Also recently read The Art of War, Flatland, Civil Disobedience, Common Sense, Sidartha, and I'm currently reading The Kama Sutra

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiked the GR20 in Corsica! A 13 day hike across 180 kilometers in the very very high mountains of Corsica.
