Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When I travel I enjoy connecting with interesting people and it was suggested to me that I would therefore enjoy this. I'll be travelling a bit between now and November and I thought it would be an interesting time to try it out, connect with interesting people, and meet up along my journey. My first Couchsurfing experience was in Minsk meeting up to explore the city and it just really resonated with me, I felt like I learned a lot more and experienced the city differently than if I had wandered around alone. My first stay over was in Kazan and I had so much fun meeting friends of my host and getting let into local life for a few days. It was a great start that convinced me I liked this way of experiencing the world, so here I am, new but hooked 😅

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Aug-Sept 2023 I travelled from Riga to Issky Kul in Kyrgyzstan over land, passing through 7 countries, taking 3 busses, 15 trains and 5 cars. I travelled over 7500 km and stopped in Riga, Tallinn, Narva, Saint Petersburg, Moscow, Kazan, Izhevsk, Perm, Yekaterinburg, Omsk, Petropavlovsk, Astana, Almaty, Tashkent, Khujand, Bukhara, Samarkand, Shymkent, and Bishkek along the way.
