I am a recent college graduate who majored in Marketing and Sales. I will be starting my career in Fall 2015, and will be conquering my bucket list goal of visiting every continent one country at a time. I am passionate about traveling, meeting new people, and engaging in powerful conversations. I am always up for a new adventure, and enjoy a chill night of getting to know someone just as much as going out and partying. I spent five months in Brazil in college, and learned the valuable lesson that I could have imagined: the best part of traveling is not where you go, but the people you meet along the way.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When I studied abroad in Brazil, I had the amazing opportunity to live with a host family. I saw first hand how powerful it is to be able to stay with natives of the country who can engage in conversation, make recommendations, and provide personal insight.

My roommate and I are embarking on a one month trip throughout Europe, and are looking forward to making many memories with the people we meet along the way. I believe we could add value to the people we are staying with by providing good conversation and insight from our previous travels and the US. We are hoping to couch surf to meet new people, engage in cultural experiences we may not get from other accommodations, and get recommendations for our future travels. Our goal is to make friends that we can maintain far into the future, and pay it forward by offering up our couches when they visit the US! :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Traveled to Iguazu Falls (Foz do Iguaçu) during my study abroad in Brazil. Me and two of my friends that I had made from the states who were part of my program took a 12 hour train ride to the falls. The scenery was amazing, but the people we met along the way were the best part. On just the train ride there we met an Australian doing a 6-month backpacking trip around South America who stayed with us for a couple of days, a couple from Finland who had gotten married and were on a year-long adventure through every continent, and a couple of other college students from England who were taking a gap year. I was amazed at the people we were able to meet on just a weekend trip - those have turned into the kind of moments I live for.

I hope to learn other people's stories, and learn more about their culture. I want to hear the positives, negatives, and everything in between.
