I am an easy going, fun, curious and an adventurous student at Rutgers The State University of New Jersey and I aspire to live life to the fullest. I love learning, particularly about culture, food, music, and I love to travel and meet new people! Born and raised in New Jersey, outside of Trenton, in close proximity to Philadelphia, I have come to love New Jersey for its diversity and opportunity, and I see it as a beautiful place teaming with culture, great food, and many things to do. It is MUCH more than the Jersey Shore! Now I currently reside in New Brunswick, New Jersey, where I study and play at Rutgers. My goal is to be fluent in Spanish and I will be studying abroad in Salamanca Spain this summer, while visiting many different Spanish cities. I love exploring, hiking, late night dancing, live music, movies and pop culture, and of course FOOD!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am a college student with low funds and high aspirations to travel and explore! I want authentic experiences where I travel, and I want to meet people who can not only show me cool places with great energy and good vibes, but I want to meet people who I can call friends when I leave. I find that wherever I have been, it has been a much more fufilling experience when I can meet new people and share my experience with them. I would love to also practice my Spanish, so any opportunity to speak with a native speaker is also highly valued for me.

Music, Movies, and Books

My music taste changes with my mood. I love all music, and I love discovering music, but I value and respect artists that exhibit raw talent and versatility in there style, especially when an artist grows and changes. Two great examples of this and two of my favorite artists are The Beatles and Kanye West, but my taste ranges across many genres.

I love J.R.R. Tolkein - The Hobbit, There and Back Again is one of my favorite books, and I loved the LOTR movies. Game of Thrones is another one of my favorite shows, and I love anything with themes of exploring, traveling, and adventuring. I love movies so much it's difficult for me to pick favorites. Some of my favorite directors include Quentin Tarantino and Wes Anderson.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I live with 11 other close friends in a house in New Brunswick. We are all college students who enjoy working hard and playing harder. If you would like to stay with me in New Brunswick, I would be more than happy to point you towards fantastic local restaurants and bars and show you some of what Rutgers has to offer (in terms of nightlife, history, football, etc). New Brunswick is home to countless fantastic bars and restaurants, a young and hip live music scene specific to Rutgers and New Brunswick, and of course Rutgers school pride with some famed college bars and traditions. New Brunswick is known as "Hub City" being that it is a prime midway destination between New York City and Philadelphia, the largest and 6th largest cities in the Unites States respectively. With a train station that can get to both destinations, day trips are very possible. New Brunswick is also centrally located in New Jersey, about an hour away from everything - the famed Jersey Shore, the Delaware Water Gap, Hoboken, and the pine barrens are some popular Jersey must- dos.
