About Me

At work, people I know would probably characterize me as a slightly quirky homebody, a person that prefers the company of a book over that of a person, and generally agreeable, although somewhat reserved. Those that have known me longer would say that assessment was mostly rubbish...

I am a long-time gymnastics coach currently working and living in San Antonio, Texas, USA. Outside of the gym I spend time learning about the world while simultaneously gathering life stories by actively engaging in whatever piques my interest. I've worked in television, the skateboarding industry, recorded music and managed a band, written many things, and even published a couple small things. I've performed in musicals, started and failed a couple businesses, and created the perfect chocolate chip cookie through many dozens of experiments...ok, so I know that characteristics of the perfect chocolate chip cookie might vary from person to person, but this one is just too good...it is chewy, but not under-baked. It has just the right amount of crisp. It's not overly sweet, and packs a ton of taste (secret #1...you absolutely must brown your butter first).

If you have any questions about me, or just want to strike up a conversation, don't hesitate.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I imagine that the type of people who would want to be involved with a website like couchsurfing are interested in more than just Instagram photos and snapchat stories (although fun for sure). I imagine the couchsurfing community as those who strive to be world citizens, engaging with individuals from around the globe in an effort to learn from and rejoice in one another's differences, and enjoying the opportunity to engage with another culture, as well as sharing one's own culture in the more immersive setting of a home. These are my type of people.

Interests

I'm all about both music and the written word.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The evolution of the internet is probably the most amazing thing I've seen

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you a cartwheel or back flip, I'd love to learn anything you can teach me about the soul of your city/country, and I'd love to share with you some of the best cookies on this side of the map.

I'd love to learn about the breads and cheeses where you're from lol.

What I Can Share with Hosts

If I drink you'll get much singing.
Sober time gets you interesting conversation.
I can cook some pretty decent traditional American foods.
I can bake one of the best chocolate chip cookies you've ever had.
I'm also somewhat knowledgeable in communication design and conflict management if you need either of those two skills.
