Overview
About Me
Hello, my name is Ryan, a dedicated, open-minded, and curious traveler with a passion for spiritual practice, nature, and meaningful connections.
I’ve been on the road for over 12 years, most recently spending a year of reflection in the peace of Thailand. Now, I’m ready on my next adventure, prioritizing connecting with like-minded individuals as I travel and experience new places,
About Me:
I’m deeply committed to my spiritual practice, which includes Traditional Hatha Yoga, Dhyana Yoga (focus-based meditation), Karma Yoga (work as a spiritual practice), and Shaivite Non-Dual Tantra. I love sharing these practices with others and engaging in thoughtful discussions about spirituality and inner freedom.
When I’m not on the mat, I enjoy exploring nature on foot, motorcycle, or bicycle. I’m also passionate about visiting spiritual sites, historical places, and art galleries. I’m always curious to learn and try new things. I have travelled a lot and lived in community so I am a pretty responsible, quiet and conscientious guest.
A Few More Details:
Languages: Native English, fluent conversational LatAm Spanish.
Diet: I’m mostly vegetarian and usually only very occasionally eat locally sourced “happy” meat when I do. I cannot eat gluten/wheat as it makes me quite unwell. But outside of these restrictions, I like to try new things and will always find a way to sustain myself.
Looking forward to connecting!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
After 18 months in Thailand and 5 years working on the internet, I’m excited to travel again and to connect with like-minded individuals and immerse myself in new cultures. I’m eager to engage in meaningful conversations, share good food and recipes from the world, and if you’re open to it or a practitioner yourself, share in spiritual practice.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music all over the place, I like to listen to new styles and artists. Some key words: deep, dark, intense, a soulful.
Some directors I like are Jarmusch, the Coens, Gilliam, Anderson.
Although I studied literature in University, for the last 9 years I mostly only read spiritual texts.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hitchhiking and free camping in a hammock in Baja California Mexico for a month was a fantastic experience,
Teach, Learn, Share
Yoga and Meditation: Even while travelling I like to keep up a daily practice of 2-3 hours a day, a mix of Asana, Pranayama, Bandha, and Meditation. I also enjoy discussing the Sutras and scriptures that inform these practices, as well as the View and practices of Shaivite Tantra, which focus on the awakening of perception and consciousness. I’m always happy to learn from other practitioners or guide others in my practices and share in this way.
Vegetarian Cooking: I’m passionate about cooking and can prepare delicious vegetarian meals. I’m happy to share my recipes I’ve learned from many years of travel and cook for my hosts.
Exploration: I love exploring natural landscapes and spiritual sites. If you have any recommendations, I’d be thrilled to visit them, and if you’d like to explore together, I would welcome sharing in that way.
