Hey my name is Ryan! I’m currently a student studying abroad in Madrid. I’m a filmmaker and an avid skier and surfer. I’m learning Spanish and having an amazing time exploring Spain. I think its super important to travel and meet new people. I’ve learned so much from the different places I’ve been to and can’t wait to keep experiencing new things with new people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’ve found that the best way to travel is to connect with local people. I’ve done some couch surfing the old fashion way and am currently living with a host family in Madrid. When my buddy recommended I check out this app I couldn’t believe that I hadn’t heard of it before.

Music, Movies, and Books

Film is a huge part of my life! My taste in movies ranges from Dumb and Dumber to There Will Be Blood. I tend to lean towards movies that don’t take themselves to seriously, but I also love when a movie sucks me into a completely new world and blows my mind. I do a lot of reading. Strictly fiction :) One of my favorite books is Never Let Me Go. I mainly listen to rock and alt rock music. Some of my favorite bands are Twin Peaks, The Talking Heads and Khruangbin.
