About Me

Hi there! :) as you already know, my name is Ryan and I am new to Couchsurfing (the app, anyhow). I am on a grand adventure around the country, absorbing as many beautiful sights and wonderful experiences along the way as possible. I have always been something of a nomad, but for the past 5 years, I have been stuck in a routine of work and school, no time to live and grow in other, deeper ways. I have been on the road now for 8 days, and it has been pretty amazing :) I saw the Hoover Dam, Mount Rushmore, the Henry Doorly Zoo, amazing reptiles at Reptile Gardens in Rapid City, and made a few friends along the way :) I am proceeding through the south, then up the east coast and straight back to California, so this is only the beginning :) if you'd like to be a positive addition to my experience, I'd be more than happy to add you 💙

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

This trip is not only to experience new things, but to meet new people and hear their stories ❤️

Interests

Music, good movies, laughing, dancing, playing in the rain, meeting good people, seeing new things, living my life!!

Music, Movies, and Books

The Beatles, Stones, Black Keys, The Dead, anything bluegrass...ya know, the good stuff :)
As for movies: Fargo, Endless Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Stranger than Fiction, anything Terentino, Cohen Brothers or Scorcesi...there are just too many good'ens :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing I've done...hmmm...well, I think cruising the country solo is pretty rad, but I have had one particularly amazing experience on this trip: I survived 2 tornadoes in Missouri, hiding out with a dozen+ people in a walk-in freezer. Crazy experience, definitely reconfirmed my desire to live.

Teach, Learn, Share

One thing I've learned on the road: carry an atlas wherever you go. If your gps goes out your good, plus if you carry that bad boy into a bar/restaurant, you will make friends :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm a great cook, I'm the first to jump up and clean, I sing a bit, and I play the spoons 😁
