About Me

From Canada but spent most of my growing time in the Caribbean when I was a child. Been solo traveling on and off for about 3 years between working schedules. I had been laid off in 2015 and last minute decided to book a flight to Europe for 2 months without much of a plan, and the plan I did have I kinda ignored, and over those 2 months kinda caught the travel bug. I had to chance to travel around a bit when I was young since its seems that everyone in my family wanted a different continent so visiting family included a bit of traveling to say the least. I have been living in the Canadian west coast for the last 11 years after I left the Caribbean to complete high school, college and got my first jobs there as well.

I use to be a runner, have done less now due to a injury but am trying to take up biking until my leg heals and hopefully it helps. I have been trying to reteach myself german and spanish which I had taken in school, and knew german when I was a kid in Austria. My german has come a good ways but I have had long gaps in between for people to practice conversation with.

I have never Couchsurfed before and only know a few people who have done it and loved it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to meet people from all over the world and show me more about what living in that country and city is like. I enjoy hostels and have made some great friends by staying in them for last half decade now, but I would like to try and get a better understanding of places as well. From what I have heard is that everyone they meet on couch surfing has also been just an amazing and sometimes more fun than hostels.

Also if some will help by speaking german with me would go a long way with my practicing haha.

Music, Movies, and Books

My music sways around for what I like, I'd say currently into alternative but I have gone through phases of hip-hop, country and pop. For the most part though I am very open to all music, love listening to it on a drive.

Books i'm also all over the place, more so even, i can go from biography to suspense to crime to fantasy to history with no problems. Books just have to get me at the right time and have a good hook. I am also a person who has never seen more than 1 episode of Game of Thrones, but I have read the first two books so far.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Two months in Europe from having the idea 10 days before departure, and going by myself. Had a vague plan of route I was going to take on the 2 months but after a week i scrapped it and just took the advice of people I met in hostels on where to go. Of course I made friends on the road and joined them for stints on their travels around Europe only splitting of for a few days to see places I wanted to see. I made it from London down to Greece and back through a different route. The trip in hindsight has cost more due to a bunch of dum mistakes i see now, but the places and people were nothing short of great.

Oh and doing the stair way to heaven in Hawaii for morning this year, I would not give up that experience for anything!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can help someone with any things around their place in what ever way I can. I am also happy to help with any chores or house work or what have you, any way I could be thankful for your company. If you are learning german as well I am totally down to have bad conversations between the two of us, and my english is hopefully good enough to help with if you'd like.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am not sure what really it means with share since I mostly travel with just a carry on bag, but if you have any suggestions or requests just say.
