My name is Ryan Waranauskas, and I am currently a student at Chapman University studying business administration with an emphasis in marketing. With a passion for art and digital design, marketing blends these arts perfectly together in a fast-paced industry--perfect for a soon-to-be graduate such as myself.

I am an adventure-seeker, and a risk taker. I play guitar in a band, and have toured professionally for 2 years alongside my studies. While I love playing music, my favorite part about touring was the frequent newness that was experienced--each day was a new place with new people and a wall of new challenges to overcome. It's truly addicting, and has continued to be a huge source of inspiration for me as a person.

Naturally a charismatic and positive person, I love to travel and meet people from all walks of life. My goal through couchsurfing is to make friends around the world, and to fully embrace the various cultures around the world. As a host, I know that I could make more money doing Airbnb... what fun is that? I would love to actually interact with my guests, and treat them rather as friends. Socializing and experiencing my hometown is something that I would love to share with other couchsurfers. Similarly, as a guest, I provide open-mindedness and a willingness to learn. I believe that this mentality is at the heart of what makes couchsurfing so amazing, and inspires me to continue to not only host, but surf the world.

Music is my passion, and live music is my favorite past time. Whether it be performing or watching, I am always down to go to a concert. Although I am in a metal band, I appreciate and admire all types of performances.

I am currently backpacking through Europe for 100 days--while most students study abroad, I found one location to be too limiting for my semester off. So, I decided to see every corner that I could--leaving no stone unturned, traveling to a new city every 3-4 days. Although exhausting, I rely on the hospitality and kindness of those that I meet to show me around and help me experience the city. This has proven to make this trip an unforgettable and life changing time--one that I am continuing to cherish and bring with me along the journey! :)
