Overview
About Me
I am currently a student at Northern Michigan University in Marquette, Michigan, USA. I grew up in Kansas City, Missouri, Green Bay, Wisconsin, and New London, Wisconsin. I spent much of my childhood traveling around the Midwest to visit relatives and to explore the Great Lakes. My favorite parts of the Midwest include the environment, the hospitality, and the fun that it offers.
I have never been able to travel abroad but I have been to a few fun places in the United States such as Whitefish, Montana, Albuquerque, New Mexico, Chicago, Illinois, and Jasper, Arkansas (and many, many more). I hope to explore more of my country in the future and also explore the world.
My favorite part of meeting new people (young or old, near or far) is learning about their culture. Each place is so unique and I am fascinated how different yet similar people can be.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I joined Couchsurfing based on great reviews from a friend who was visiting from New Zealand. She had traveled to many different countries around the world and said it was very useful and inexpensive.
I would love to use this site for my trips in the future while also becoming a host some day. I love the idea to get to know people no matter where they are from. Culture fascinates me!

Music, Movies, and Books
My music is quite diverse. I enjoy listening to newer bands while still sticking to the classics. My favorite groups and artists include: the Eagles, Gregory Alan Isakov, the Head and the Heart, James Taylor, the Lumineers, and Styx. I played trumpet for many years and also developed a love for jazz music, as well.
For movies, I rarely sit down long enough to watch them but still enjoy them. Growing up, the outdoors was more important than movies so I'm not well versed in my film repertoire. However, if I had to choose, my favorites would be Forrest Gump, Ratatouille, Star Wars, and Ferris Bueller's Day Off.
My favorite books include Fahrenheit 451, Don't Let's Go to the Dogs Tonight, the Adventure's of Huckleberry Finn, and the Alex Rider Series. Again, I don't often sit down enough to read but I do enjoy it when I take the time to do so.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I went to Whitefish, Montana via the Amtrak train system for family vacation one winter. I was able to snowboard down the Rocky Mountains and see both the Canadian Rockies and the United States Rockies at the same time. While I was there I got to explore the city and visit Glacier National Park!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I love culture! Whether you're from a different city, state, or country, I'd love to show you what my current place of residence has to offer. I'd love to show you both the tourist attractions as well as the local hot spots. You're in for a unique experience!
