About Me

ABOUT ME

I like to think that my best friends might talk about my whit, mechanical aptitude or some such thing, but the truth is that they would more likely tell you that I'm the sort of person that can't turn a blind eye to someone in need. I have a bit of a risque sense of humor, a pension for adventure and a strong sense of personal responsibility and ownership of my mistakes.

Interests

I'm an interested generalist - I have a tendency to become facinated with all sorts of places, people and machines, but I've never been one to stick to one thing for very long. A few that have stuck are music, motorcycling, traveling, hiking and camping. I tend to enjoy nearly all derivations of each those things as well. At any given time I'm probably walking, working on some kind of machine or out riding.

I have plans to take a year off to see Central and South America by motorcycle. I also want to take a backpacking trip through Europe for several months and hike the Appalachian Trail.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm always humbled when I get the chance to lay down and stare at the sky on a clear night as far from city lights as I can.

I was amazed the first time that I saw the Blue Ridge Parkway in person. It managed to combine a fear of heights and crashing my bike in new and terrifying ways as there aren't really any guard rails and sometimes less than 10 feet of shoulder separating you from quite the free fall. In spite of that I couldn't help but be taken in by the majesty of it all. And it only served to make me want to see what other things there are in the world.
