About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Never stop exploring, asking questions, and creating new ideas

ABOUT ME

I am a very nice person who is extremely open-minded to others' personalities and ideas, and pretty much never gets upset by things. I believe in following the way of the world around me and don't stress out about troubles that may come my way. I always try to find the good in people because I know, that even if it may not be outwardly apparent, it does exist.

PHILOSOPHY

There is good in everyone and I am determined to find it! Also life is too short to stress about things, so go with the flow, let the universe take over, and enjoy the ride.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I was turned on to CS when some of my good friends hosted a surfer from Australia and spoke very highly of the whole experience. I am looking to do some couch surfing while I am traveling and also do some hosting when I find myself at home.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couch surfed on my way home from Pennsylvania to Texas and during the Summer of 2015 when I road tripped from Vancouver to Houston. I stayed with several different people on my travels and had a great experience everywhere I went. I was able to see places and meet people I never would have had the chance to interact with otherwise, and was able to witness first hand the kindness of random strangers.

Interests

I am a singer/song-writer/multi-instrumentalist/teacher and I love all kinds of music. I teach 8th grade math teacher and coach football and track at a middle school in Houston, TX.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am very easily entertained when it comes to movies, but I have found that the foregin films I have seen were particularly interesting to me. I.E. Pan's Labyrinth, and Delicatessen. I'm also a sucker for anything with a good story that can help us learn a little bit more about ourselves.

I am a lover of all music and there are no exceptions to this. I believe that every type and genre of music has its time and place and its just a matter of finding the appropriate soundtrack to wherever you may be in your life journey.

I am more of a auditory person so traditional reading isn't really my forte (Although, I have made it through Fahrenheit 451, and The Tao of Pooh on old fashioned paper). I do enjoy tearing through audiobooks while I run, do yard work, or drive. Ive made it through the a few trilogies: Red Rising, Hunger Games, Divergent and The Mistborn. I also really enjoyed Lamb by Christopher Moore, and The Alchemist was one I was instantly hooked to after a family member recommended it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I come from the Texas Bayou, so passing through the hills of Virginia was an amazing experience. I took a week long road trip on my motorcycle from Texas to Pennsylvania to spend a month with family and the trip itself was an eye-opening experience.

Also, If you ever get a chance to head up around the Columbia River Gorge you can check out a great piece of American Beauty along the Lewis and Clark Highway. A buddy of mine and I spent a good amount of time hiking around the area checking out the waterfalls.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know a little bit about music, some I've learned in school, and some I've taught myself. If you're interested in learning guitar or any other instrument I can play I'd be happy to show you what I know, and maybe we can even write a song together!

What I Can Share with Hosts

A warm bed, a welcoming environment, great conversation, and some cant-be-beat Texas margaritas!
