About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To enjoy a summer of adventures and portfolio development before I move back to Atlanta and finish my degree in Illustration + Sequential Art at SCAD!

ABOUT ME

I'm genuine, laid-back, open-minded, and amiable. I'm left-handed, I do art, and I begin dancing at random intervals (I'm pretty good at The Robot.)
My friends would call me quirky and long-winded, but they would also say that I am very honest and sincere. People seem to like my sense of humor a lot; I acclimate to people and places swiftly. People keep calling me a "good sport."
I'm very flexible, I strongly believe in cleaning up after myself, and respecting others and their living spaces. That being said, I'm also open to various fun, a boardgame perhaps. :]

PHILOSOPHY

We all choose and build our meaning or purpose. Personally, I just believe in celebrating life through the conscious experience and reciprocatively maintaining a healthy universe for present and future creatures.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have couchsurfed at one hosts abode, and it was great. My friend/roommate Adam has participated. Together, we have opened our home to various travelers reaching cross country and farther all the way to Germany.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My roommates and I have had a mutually enjoyable experience with all of our guests, experiencing food, culture, and board games during their visits.
My experience of staying with another host was in Atlanta: a great precursor to catch my footing before moving there for 3 years. The stay was quaint, just like I like it, and it proved CS is the best way to truly experience a new place: by diving in and meeting a new friend who lives there, sharing stories, culture, and knowledge.

Interests

I'm an avid fan of both digital/video games as well as board/tabletop games.
I'm an artist who works in both digital and traditional mediums. So, I love using oil paints, brush and inks, pens, charcoal, conte crayon, Photoshop, Illustrator, clay, even tried a little sewing... My favorite subject is faces/portraits, but I also love figures.

Food?
I'm pretty open here, too. My favorite think to devour is coffee (frozen dessert type or just regular black). Coconut+Mocha and Hazelnut+French Vanilla flavor coffee = Yes.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies I like?
Vanilla Sky, Moulin Rouge, The Fountain, Eternal Sunshine, Stardust, Howl's Moving Castle, Escaflowne, Fifth Element, Serenity, Leon The Professional, V for Vendetta, The Avengers, The Dark Knight, Sin City, Boondock Saints, Silent Hill, The Cell, What Dreams May Come, Mirrormask, City of Lost Children, Hugo, Amelie, Pirate Radio, *** The Rocky Horror Picture Show ***, Tron + Tron Legacy, Legend (with the evil Tim Curry), The Last Unicorn, Little Nemo, Neverending Story (say my name, Bastian!)... um... Kung Pow!, Austin Powers, Shaolin Soccer, any Monty Python movie, Office Space, Hitchhiker's Guide.

Music?
Tycho, James Blake, Imogen Heap (Frou Frou), M83, Ulrich Schnauss, Mika, Muse, Levi Weaver, Death Cab for Cutie/Postal Service, Coldplay, The Beatles, Nobuo Uematsu, Sigur Ros, Explosions in the Sky, This Will Destroy You, Apparat, Boards of Canada, Tangerine Dream, BT, Daft Punk, Deadmau5, Bassnectar, Royksopp, Mum, Mike Milosh, Portishead, Telepopmusik, Caravan Palace, Basement Jaxx, Scissor Sisters, La Roux... anything from MSI to ELO, game music, orchestrated music, classical, ambient, electronic, trance, trap, celtic...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've gotten to meet Imogen Heap, which is one of my most beloved music artists. She was so exotic and humble and let me talk to her for 15 minutes... she asked me questions about MY art (swoon). I hugged her without asking first, but she didn't seem to mind.

Teach, Learn, Share

I've got a lot to learn. Some grander things I'd like to accomplish range from skydiving, hang glide, scuba diving, mountain climbing, to martial arts or riding a motorcycle. Some more reasonable lessons would be learning to play an instrument, any dances, how to cook, how to sew/knit/patch clothing, how to web design, any programming code.

Things I can share? Well, as you might guess: art. I can offer what I know about painting, drawing, sculpting, and digital mediums like Photoshop. I'm pretty savvy with computers/technology, so if you aren't I can help.
