ABOUT ME

I'm a 35-year old Officer in the Canadian Coast Guard. It's a 28 day on/28 day off job, so I'm either around or I'm not. When I'm home I like to socialize with my friends and have small get-togethers, putter around the house working on projects, and generally find new and interesting things to amuse myself with.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Right now I'm looking to host a few travellers, learn from their experiences, and get to know some amazing new people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm just starting out in the couchsurfing world. Here is my progress thus far:

Interests

I am a fan of old things, adventure, puns, food that is probably bad for me, sunshine, tea, bike rides, the do-it-yourself attitude, stained glass, woodworking, growing vegetables in the summertime, pretending to know how to cook, dabbling in new hobbies, exploring new places that are right under my nose, camping, and whatever else happens to strike my fancy.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

-Held my little baby niece.
-Constructed many things out of wood and brawn.
-Commanded a ship at sea.
-Braved storm and gale.
-Steered a ship through the Panama Canal.
-Gotten "screeched in" on George street in Newfoundland.
-Crossed the arctic circle by sea. Several times.
-Stood in America and gazed upon Russia.
-Haggled over ivory carvings in an inuit community.
-Tasted Beluga Whale.
