About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Current "Mission"? This question is a bit too serious, isn't it?
ABOUT ME
Although I am orginally from Australia I consider Germany and Europe to be my home now. I have been living here for 16 years and I like it here.
PHILOSOPHY
If you are visiting me when I am in Australia, I can also offer a critical viewpoint of Australian society, something which, in my opinion, due to ever growing patriotism, too few Australians are able to do.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I joined this site because I find staying with people when I travel much better than in a hostel/hotel. It is nice meeting people from the town/city which I am visiting. It is also nice hepling others who come to Berlin.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have been a member of Hospitality Club (profile name: rdk01) for 13 years, but since it is getter harder and harder to find a place to stay there, I joined up here.

Music, Movies, and Books
Books: The Stranger/Outsider (L'Etranger) from Camus, 1984 from George Orwell. At the moment I love the Volker Kutscher series of crime novels about Berlin during the Weimar Republic. I also liked Popular Music from Vittula, Der geteilter Himmel/Christa Wolf.
Music: Refused (Swedish hardcore band from the 90's), Stille Volk (folk band from France), Horse the Band (US / Nintendo core), Neue Musik.
Movies: 101 Reykjavik (Iceland), French and Scandanavian films, such as Feux rouges, Dinner game, Exit, Festen, the Man, In order of disapearence, Borgen and Forbrydelsen (the killing)(series from Denmark). Austrian movies: Der Knochenmann, Komm süßer Tod, Silentium, Hundstage, Import Export. Irish films: The Guard and In Bruges.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hitchhiked about 30 000 km through Europe. Lots of stories associated with it.
Teach, Learn, Share
The explanation text for this box is so funny:
"This is the beginnings of the future Couchsurfing University, a school where everyone's a student and everyone's a teacher."
But I would like to know more about repairing bicycles, as mine is a lemon.
I have lots of good tips about cooking.
