Chi sono

CURRENT MISSION

See as much of the world as possible

ABOUT ME

I'm currently studying a Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Melbourne. I'm enjoying my studies, but finding it a challenge at the same time.
I love sports, any sport, especially basketball and AFL (Australian Football).
I've caught the travel bug after travelling overseas for the first time in Feb 2013. So far i've been to 5 countries including SE Asia and the US. At the moment all i want to do is travel! I can't wait for my next adventure.

PHILOSOPHY

"Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent." - Calvin Coolidge

Perché sono iscritto su Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm relatively new to couchsurfing, I've hosted at my home in Melbourne and surfed abroad. My best experience would have to have been in San Francisco with Marc, an absolutely awesome guy who's hospitality was something that truly amazed me and embodied the spirit of couch surfing. I've also participated in countless meet-ups or rather "drink-ups" organised through couch surfing during my travels, its such an awesome way to meet friendly people.

Interessi

If I could pick three words to describe what I'm interested in they'd be: travel, people and sport. I travel not only to see amazing landscapes, tall buildings, remarkable architecture or world renowned attractions but to experience different cultures, different people. Meeting new people and taking the time to listen to their idea of 'normality' has produced some of the most entertaining and inspiring interactions i've ever had, and I've only just begun.

Musica, film e libri

My music library would have to be one of the more diverse you could find. I've always appreciated acoustic tracks, i think it's awesome what some people can do with a guitar and their voice. Then an hour later you could find me listening to the "Hottest 100". I really don't stick to a genre or an artist, my preference is always changing.

Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto

How about one amazing thing I've seen instead.

In Thailand (February 2014) after a long day of typical tourist activities my two friends and I found ourselves at a remote waterfall, located in a relatively deep valley wedged between two mountain faces. The only access to the water fall was via a steep walking path lining with loose rocks, making access in and out very difficult. The waterfall had an upper lagoon which fed into the lower lagoon via a seven or eight metre fall. As two friends and I sat with our legs in the upper lagoon looking down the face of the water fall we watched with interest as one of the only other people to have made the trek down decided it would be a good idea to entirely immerse himself in the upper lagoon. As we watched on the man gradually made his way toward the face of the waterfall seemingly unaware of the force of the current flowing down stream. Suddenly he inched a single step too far and the force of the water was too strong for him to withstand. He was sucked into the opening at the top of the waterfall and subsequently tumbled down the face of limestone cliff, completing multiple rotations on his way down. To our dismay upon entering the bottom lagoon he did not surface immediately, only after what seemed like an eternity. Amazingly he had only sustained significant superficial injuries and was able to walk away from the fall badly bleeding but not broken.

Cosa posso offrire ai padroni di casa

I can share a love of travel, people and different cultures. I love a beer and good conversation. I wouldn't say i'm great cook but I'm never afraid to try, however my washing up skills are second to none :)
