ABOUT ME

Ryan is from Canada, Chiara's from Italy. Met in Amsterdam in 2003 and have been together ever since. We lived in many countries and we are now attempting to settle right where we met: Amsterdam!

We both work long hours (Chiara works in policy for a sustainabillity NGO, and Ryan works freelance as a writer, improv comedian, and communications consultant) but love to do fun stuff with friends and travel when possible. We also love meeting new cool people.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Hosted and have been hosted a few times a few years ago when we lived in Brussels. After a hiatus we're getting back into CS.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Hosted:
Some great times hosting folks from Canada/Mexico, Poland, Scotland, USA, Holland. I think that's it for now.

Surfed:
We had great experiences both in France and Austria.

Interests

Been hooked on episodic tv shows: Dexter, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, 30 Rock, Mad Man, Modern Family, Arrested Development, 24, Spaced, Weeds...

Other movies: Anchorman, American Splendor, Best in Show, Chasing Amy, Dogma, Garden State, Royal Tennenbaums, Big Lebowski, Being John Malkovich, Hudsucker Proxy, Delicatessan, Mallrats, Napoleon Dynamite, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Brain Candy, Amelie, Donnie Darko, Office Space, The Jerk, PunchDrunk Love, Bowfinger, The Corporation, Project Grizzly, Elf, Drive, Bottle Rocket, Hotel Rwanda...the list goes on...

Ryan likes lots of hiphop (Atmosphere, Aesop Rock, Brother Ali, Beastie Boys, Sage Francis, Josh Martinez, DJ Format, Ugly Duckling...) Chiara not so much, but we can agree on a lot of indie rock and so forth (Munford and Sons, Fleet Foxes, Beirut, The Shins, Weakerthans, Bright Eyes, Arcade Fire, soso, Herman Dune, Why?, Arctic Monkeys...).

Books: the list is too long and our bookshelves are overfull...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Have moved cities and countries 5 times together in the past 10 years and have managed to get our lives (and electricity, gas, internet etc.)up and running each time.
