ABOUT ME

I am one part of a traveling set, my dog Louie is the other. Louie has twice as many legs as I have, but he's just barely as footloose. Honestly, this whole couchsurf thing is his idea: he freaking loves couches.

I enjoy change and movement and the variety of stories and lessons you gain by forcing yourself into uncomfortable and new situations. Often these situations seem new and uncomfortable to
me though.

I am a vegetarian, a thinker, and a whole-hearted individual. I hold that a system of values and ethics has been the best tool on the road to keep me focused, progressing and self-respecting enough to be warm and comfortable to those with which I share this grand space. I travel light, I believe in deserving the things that come to me and carrying my own burden and any more I can help with. I prefer to travel in and out of all walks of life by free methods ensuring vast experience, or meeting new people as a precondition to movement.

PHILOSOPHY

I want to be a better person each day, more able to act on a learned and well thought-out system of personal values that make both me and those around me happier and inspired.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have hosted many couch surfers and travelers with an open-door policy, and when I am stationary again, I will host with great generosity. For now, I am hoping to use couchsurf as a resource to meet fun, intelligent, well-travelled and interesting people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couchsurfed in New Zealand and met some of the most beautiful people this way. We even went back for more good times. Then some in Guatemala, in Guate City, where we had a wonderfully great time in those places where you're told to be careful.

I am always reading a book, and am open to any kind of suggestion for any of these three things. As long as there is a soul to the work, I'm in.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Once, a friend and I sat atop a train engine on the back of a two-mile-long freight through the peaks of the Rocky Mountains for twelve hours. It was night, but as all was snow-covered and the moon was full, the vast white carpeted pines were visible in all directions while our train began to enter a stone tunnel into the mountain-side. I noted that another train was passing on top of ours, perpendicular, high above the tunnel opening, and we stood into the crisp mountain wind, waving wildly with smiles from ear-to-ear, then receded into the den of the rear train engine. For fifteen minutes our train traversed the darkness of the tunnel, and when it emerged, we did as well, resuming our vigil, perched atop the steel carriage. It was only then that I realized that far below, entering a tunnel in a mountainside, tracks lead perpendicular directly under us. Our train had wrapped over itself inside the mountain, and emerged from the spiral to travel directly over it's own caboose. We had been waving at our own train.

This is the thing! What I have is yours as well, though I have little. I am always looking to learn about language and music, but more importantly I am always looking to learn.
