ABOUT ME

I'm currently a student of anthropology with a focus on primatology and evolutionary biology/anthropology. I live in Chicago with two of my fellow classmates, my beloved pit bull, Sookie, and a pair of evil cats. I also hold a part-time job at a local grocery store where I do pretty much whatever they want me to do and get paid in hot dogs and potato chips.

I love music, all sorts of music, but generally speaking, the louder the better. Live music is the tops. I am a big sports fan: da Cubs, da Bulls, but NOT da Bears. I actually prefer college sports, particularly football. Probably my all-time favorite sport, however, is horse racing. There is nothing better than a day at the track. I'm not some compulsive gambler or anything, but I have been known to place a few bets from time to time.

My passion, my true love, my raison d'etre (if you will) is learning. I am the kind of person who questions everything- not in the a-hole kind of way, but in the curious kind of way. I feel like my entire life is an existential dilemma, and I'm totally cool with that.

I like to go out and party on occasion (with the right people), but much prefer a more intimate atmosphere, whether it be with a large group of people or just a few. I love hosting guests and throwing parties. I guess you could consider me a homebody, but my home is where I rest my head.

I'm sure there's a lot more, but we'll get to that later, when I come visit you.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is short and fragile. Fill it with good memories and positive thoughts by surrounding yourself with awesome people, good music and tasty beer.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm entirely new to this. Well, I've crashed on plenty of strangers' couches, and plenty of strangers have crashed on my couch, just without the formality of the internets.

I'm here to meet new people, see new places and have some incredible experiences.

Music, Movies, and Books

mostly indie stuff you've never heard of (I'm not that big of an asshole, I just don't feel like listing all the bands, books and movies I like here.) My tastes are fairly diverse and eclectic. I have a very open mind, especially when it comes to art.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Every single day of my life is an incredible, amazing experience. Just being human is good enough for me. But that one time, I met Ryan Adams was pretty awesome.
