Overview
About Me
For what it's worth, I *was* verified by CS but they decided that they want $60/yr for the luxury of a green star next to my name. Forget that noise.
ABOUT ME
I was born in Germany to American parents who were stationed at a US Air Force base nearby. Lived on two different USAF bases before my dad left the military and we moved to Oregon.
Moved to Ireland in Sept '13 when my employer started moving all of us techies over, so here I am!
I'm into diving, photography, live music (of all types), dive bars, and general exploration. I want to eventually get back into musical performance, but I'm wanting to get a normal routine before I add that.
PHILOSOPHY
I'm very much a "live for the moment but don't forget to plan your future" type of person. I'm eternally curious and am always hungry to experience new things. Be it a new culture, new people, new skillsets, etc.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Since I'm not able to host, I haven't done a ton yet. Attended one of the Friday meetups and look forward to doing another one here shortly.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Not much yet; Met some great people at a meetup and have become good friends with a few!
Interests
Photography, diving, hiking, pub crawls, technology, musical performance, piano, entrepreneurial shenanigans, great craic.
Music, Movies, and Books
My tastes are far too broad to make a definitive list. My ultimate favs:
TV: Dexter, Doctor Who, Firefly, Bones, Archer, Arrested Development, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
Movies: Jurassic Park, Top Gun. I'm a huge fan of the Marvel Avengers movies; Robert Downey Jr is my hero and not so secret man-crush.
Music: The pop stuff I most often listen to include Muse (huge fan), 30 Seconds to Mars, Linkin Park, Johnny Cash, Fall Out Boy, Bastille, Green Day, Jay-Z, etc.
On the flip side though, I've got the classical greats like Thomas Tallis, Beethoven, Mozart, jazz legends like Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Charlie Parker, composers like Craig Armstrong, Danny Elfman, Hanz Zimmer, metal like Dragonforce, and a whole bunch of random (sometimes weird) music.
Reading is probably my weakest category as most of my reading comes in the form of technical manuals and other reference materials (lame).
