Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've only had one experience surfing and my living situation sadly has not permitted hosting. My first surf was phenomenal though, and I would love to gain some more XP on here!

Interests

General Interests: I am interested in many things! Including meeting new people, learning, adventures, beer, music, film, philosophy, Settlers of Catan (and most board games for that matter), hikes, bikes, backpacking, live music, and anything gezellig.

Academic interests: Recently completed my undergrad and intend to pursue a doctorate next year in the field of social neuroscience. At a research level, I am interested, broadly, in why humans are so extraordinarily kind (CS being a shining example of this capacity). I enjoy researching topics such as decision-making, altruism, morality, emotion and motivation, and human happiness. So far, my own lab-based research has focused on neural predictors of when prosocial (e.g., kind, helpful, cooperative) behavior is intuitive, and how intuitively and reflectively motivated forms of prosocial behavior unfold. I love thinking and talking about these topics, so if you're into them as well let me know! If not that is also completely cool.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Seeing the northern lights off the coast of Iceland. Never thought I could be so ecstatic at -22 degrees.
