About Me
CURRENT MISSION
My mission is to do fun things. Hike, bike, kayak, ski, discover, feel, smell, see, and live.
ABOUT ME
I'm down to meet some people who are up for whatever. I've been all over the states and I'm trying to upgrade that statement to all over the planet.
PHILOSOPHY
I plan to teach my kids the only universal rule about preparing for life: "prepare to be surprised."
Interests
Extreme sports, snowboarding, reading, cannonballing, boxcar jumping, swimming... uh.. there's just too many to put in here.
I'm really down to do anything that some might be too shy to do! I love it when I (or someone else) comes up with a crazy, borderline irresponsible, idea and we can get an entire group of people who are down for it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My buddies and I were on a road trip from New Mexico to Oklahoma, up to Wisconsin then over to Minnesota and we were parked at a gas station to grab some smokes. Max and Paul and I were in the back of the moving van with the hatch up and I was eating a turkey sandwich with my right hand. Max was probably about 15 feet from the hatch I was sitting on and he asked me to toss him a lighter which was in my right pocket. So keeping the sandwich in my right hand, I reached with my left hand into my right pocket and without looking at Max I threw the lighter behind my back with my left hand at Max. As soon as the lighter left my hand, lightning struck the top of a sign post about 50 feet from us. There was an insanely loud thunderous explosion and I dropped my sandwich just as Max jumped towards me. He unintentionally knocked the lighter with his forehead and sent it hurdling back towards me where it landed perfectly in the hand that was previously holding my sandwich...
That's probably not the MOST amazing thing i've seen/done but it's a pretty good one that I can think of at the moment.
Teach, Learn, Share
Skiing and Snowboarding: I teach kids beginner to advanced snowboarding or skiing at a small snow park in Minnesota over the winter months. I've also worked with the Courage program and taught skiing and snowboarding to their members as well. I enjoy teaching people and especially love to see big smiles when someone successfully gets to the bottom for the first time without falling.
Wilderness survival and longterm backpacking/camping: I have done plenty of 1-3 week backpacking and camping trips all over the U.S. from Yellowstone to Taos, to the Appalachians. (One day I'll walk the full AT)
