About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Living my dreams, not dreaming my life

ABOUT ME

I'm a dreamer but know dreaming is not enough. One must also do. I am experiencing and enjoying the marvels of the world through travels, food, and conversations in order to better understand people and how the world and societies work. Currently traveling the world doing some NGO work on the way.

PHILOSOPHY

“Belief based on theory was one thing, knowledge grounded in personal experience another.”

“Follow your dreams and look after your friends.” Bear Grylls

“If you have the privilege to have a platform, do something decent with it.” Bear Grylls

“The place to improve the world is first in one’s heart and head and hands and then work outward from there.” Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Mechanics.

“It’s the sides of the mountains which sustain life, not the top.” Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Mechanics.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Traveling now and seeking more couches.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I was in Denmark for a conference and a friend was studying abroad in Austria. He came up to Copenhagen and couchsurfed. I tagged along with him to a traditional Christmas dinner with his Danish CS host and her friends. We had an incredible evening.

Interests

Trying new foods like raw water buffalo, learning new sports like Takro and hopefully Aussie rules football, sustainability, meeting new people and hearing their stories, BeerLao, conversation about the world, documentaries, exploring the world, swimming where not expected, being around kids as their energy, curiosity, and unspoiled nature is inspiring, hammocks, being happy, building things like forts, and being Peter Pan and looking for Neverland.

Music, Movies, and Books

Mountains Beyond Mountains, Kite Runner, Three Cups of Tea, Blessed Unrest

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sitting like Buddha on a remote, nearly isolated beach on the east side of Ko Chang island in Thailand. The rain pouring down, the waves creeping up around me, the lightening in the distance, and the cool breeze around me was the most surreal, peaceful, and real moment of my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I enjoy learning languages and cooking as I think they are the best insight into a culture. Wanting to learn some yoga.
