Overview
About Me
I'm a doctoral student at Harvard, studying religion. Before taking the plunge in grad school, I worked several years at an NGO in Jerusalem that helps children with congenital heart disorders receive open heart surgery. Before all that, I grew up in the Rocky Mountains, hiking and fishing on the weekends, playing basketball and ping pong, and trying not to crash my truck!
I enjoy lots of things in life: reading, writing, walking, playing and listening to music, running, tennis, spending time with loved ones, watching a good movie now and then, and of course - eating chocolate chip cookies. I'm terribly interested in questions like "what does it mean to be alive? to be a good human being? to love someone?" and would consider myself really lucky to hear your take on these questions.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
At the first I was attracted to the idea of a grassroots community where folks of all sorts could share culture and friendship. And it worked. I've met some wonderful people through this project so far, and am grateful to everyone who has kindly opened their door to me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In summer 2008 I broke my neck in a car accident. Car flipped multiple times at 100+mph. (I wasn't driving, for the record.) By all accounts - doctors, highway patrolmen, nurses - I maybe shouldn't have made it. But, obviously, I did. After neurosurgery, and since then, I've been pretty motivated to seek out the meaning of this rather absurd yet absurdly beautiful enterprise called being human.
