ABOUT ME

PHILOSOPHY

The Golden Rule

"I think everyone should go to college and get a degree then spend six months as a bartender and six months as a cab driver then they would really be educated." Al McGuire

"All we are is peanuts. We can be salty or we can be sweet." - Prophet that works at a nearby parking garage

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Once I get a hang of this site I will be happy to host.

Interests

A do-gooder, free-spirited, easy going professional with a bit of a Forrest Gump life. Super balanced with experiences in acting, military construction, community development, late nights, early mornings, tasty drinks, unexpected friendships, spiritual vision quests, and multi-cultural journeys.

I live a pretty mission driven life, do advocacy work for Veterans needing housing, and work to build community alliance and positive places of opportunity for the most vulnerable in our community. In line to do some humanitarian work with ShelterBox, a disaster relief nonprofit.

Currently dwell in the Seattle in Greenlake with my badass, artistic, friendly, feminist, European partner. We may be open to hosting open-minded, good-spirited people on one of our two couches. Greenlake is a gorgeous neighborhood in North Seattle.

I am full of Seattle recommendations so ask away. I pretty much live by the motto "Whatever mine is yours" as we can't take it with us. I practice kriya yoga meditation as much as I can and welcome spiritual non-dogmatic banter.

Comedy is the best medicine and I am allergic to pretentious people. I assume if you are on this site you are as well!

Music, Movies, and Books

Top 5

Movies/TV - Planes, Trains and Automobiles, Amelie, Dhamma Brothers, Band of Brothers, Six Feet Under

Music - Jim Croce, Outkast, Fleet Foxes, Anything Blues, Anything Irish

Books - The Prophet, Testimony of LIght, On the Road, The Wasteland, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have bartered Walgreens travel shampoo for local currency with school aged children from a sand hole in Iraq; worked graveyard shift at a seedy vegas hotel in high school serving $4.95 steak and lobster to transients; got paid to act terribly in minor professional plays; lost my house in Hurricane Katrina; been in love a few times - that was pretty amazing. Sorry that's a few but it's all one memory.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am volunteer ambassador for a high speed international disaster relief organization called ShelterBox. Check em out!
