PHILOSOPHY

I used to hitchhike around the country (before the Internet was big) with all my possessions in a backpack. I learned how to meet people & ask for help along the way. Now I live a stable life and mostly travel local (like into the wilderness) but I'm happy to meet new people and help them along in their journey and learn something about the world!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have a big old house in a cool town with a couch or two to spare, and love showing off my community! I also travel a bit, usually for short rock climbing, ski, or surf adventures (because I'm foolishly holding onto my day job for now).

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I met some great people in Louisville, KY by chance when watching a big bike race. They host couchsurfers and were wonderful. Then one week later, I picked up a couchsurfer from Amsterdam hitchhiking to a ski area - they were great people so I figured I should check this out!

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Raised a child, hopped a freight train (actually several), won a bicycle stage race, started a very successful local cyclocross series.
